Default screensaver kicks in on my desktop, no problem. But not on my laptop. Preview works on the laptop of any screensaver I choose. I only have the default ones on there (Bubbles, 3D text, etc). I thought it might have been to do with having my laptop connected wth HDMI to my TV, but on disconnecting the HDMI and waiting, it still didn't kick in. There's nothing else to do except select a screensaver, press Apply and OK. Any suggestions? Laptop is i5, W7 Pro.

Advanced power options? Screensavers are really a waste on modern screens though. Dim and power off when not in use are a better option

I've looked through Advanced Power Options but can't see anything which would relate to screensavers. The reason I wanted a screensaver is because I don't want any screen burn on my 32" Sammy when I pause a movie. I sometimes tend to pause it for a long time. I think it's set to dim after a few minutes. I suppose I should set it to power down or sleep after, well, I don't know how long it takes for screen burn in to happen, if it happens at all on LCD screens?

Hmm, screensaver is working now since I closed the laptop lid and then had to log back in. :)

Edit: However, although the screensaver now kicks in, it doesn't kick in when a movie is full screen and paused. It should, shouldn't it?
