Screw hole wall mounts

Does anyone know if all TFT/LCD monitors come with screw holes for wall mounting? I'm not talking about attaching Vesa compatible mounts but just screw holes on the back of the monitor so that you can hang it on a wall like a picture. The monitor I have now (a cheap Digimate) has these & I simply drilled two screws into the wall & hung the monitor on these.

I've checked the monitors at work (Phillips) & these also have screw holes in the back. I guess these are intended for Vesa type mounts but you can use these to hang the monitor on a wall. Obviously you won't be able to move/tilt the monitor but this has been fine for me with my Digitmate screen.

I emailed OC about this & they replied saying ....... 'Unless listed in the product description we cannot guarantee this'! That's good customer service! if the product does what I want it to do I'll buy it. If I'm not sure I won't! I wish I could get away with saying stuff like that in my job. 'No, I'm not sure. Go away!!' :D

You can't just hang a monitor on a couple of screws like a picture.
I did with mine. Just drilled some holes in the wall, stuck a couple of raw plugs in & screwed the screws into the wall so they stick out enough to hang the monitor on. Works a treat ;) I just need to see if the Samsung monitors have those screw holes in the back & I can do the same.

Well obviously it IS possible but why  The plastic casing which your are poking the screws through isn't designed for that and I await your post... "monitor fell off wall, help' :D

It's been up for a couple opf years now. Never fallen of & it's a very solid fixing. The part that has the screw holes in is metal on the Phillips monitor I have. The digimate has a stand that folds up behind the monitor & has 2 screw fixings on the bottom of it. This is what you use to hang it off the wall.

Ok I stand corrected :p but this solution offers no adjustment to the level if your drilling is slightly out ;)
I've got that covered ;) I take a piece of paper, line it up over the holes, make these with a pen, put it on the wall where I want the monitor to go & then drill through. Sorted ;)

Just need to know if all monitors, or specificly the Samsung monitor I'm looking up, have those screw holes in the back. I could buy a bracket but you don't get the monitor as flush to the wall with those.

... Actually for the price of that wall that Fossie linked to earlier I might as well just buy one of those & fit the new monitor to the wall properly! I was under the impression that wall mounts cost a lot more, which is the main reason I didn't want to go that root if possible.

Anyway, here's the screw holes in the back of the monitor I have.

And here's my Digimate happily hanging of the wall from the same kind of fixings

Definitely thinking about one of those Samsung 20" widescreen monitors now. It looks like a good deal for a digital input monitor (my Digimate is analogue only) & given that & the extra size I think it would be a good step up from my current 17" monitor.
