I was messing around in the registry on windows 7 to try and get a program to work, in the end I used a cmd command that changed or deleted some of the registry files. Yesterday my computer was fine but when I turned it on this morning I couldn't get any internet access and it can't find a network adapter anymore. Im quite sure its to do with these alterations that were made and I want to know how I can get the nework adapter back.

I tried reinstalling my motherboard drivers but their was no luck and also I tried a registry fix program, I don't have any system restore points so that isn't a option, if you guy's know of any quick fix for this that would be great. In the meantime I will mess around myself to see if i can get anywhere.

Thanks.

Firstly, can you list the commands you used that created the problem? We might be able to see what actually happened and go from there :)

Im currently trying trying dano's suggestion, as for the command I will try and find it for you

That didn't work, in the network and sharing center it just says unknown. I still can't find this command, but I can tell you it was to fix a microsoft runetime error the problem was I couldn't install some applications because the microsoft runetime registry files were corrupted or their wasn't the correct permission settings attached to them. I can remember the command starting with something like db

Try forcing the driver install. Tell it you want to choose the drivers and then browse your motherboard disc for them.

That command shouldnt of deleted any entries as it just repairs the security settings. May want to run it again and make sure it finishes:

Got any system restores you can use?
