Whats the best alternative to MSPaint on a Mac? I've tried Seashore and a couple of others but never found anything as good.

Just wondered what everyone else uses as a simple bitmap editor. It needs to be freeware so no one suggest Photoshop. ;)

Paintbrush

never, EVER use the GIMP

Agree.

It's horrible and bulky :(

not only that, it has the most awful user interface of any app I've ever used and it seems to change how it works at random. I have to use it at work as it's the only graphics package on linux (that I know of) and it actually makes me angry even having to use it a little!

I agree with the Gimp comments, it really is a horrible application - so messy and 'un-Mac' like. It is very powerful though so it can be excused.

The best combination I have found is either Acorn or Pixelmator for image editing and either Omnigraffle (v5 beta out now and is awesome) or Intaglio for vectors. If you want a simple paint app, Paintbrush, Pixen, Rita or this new boy seem nice.

are you using an intel mac? pretty sure you could get MS Paint running using darwine.

another for pixelmator, but it's a little closer to the gimp than to Paint
