Hi, new to this forum.
I was hoping to find an answer to my scripting solution. Many years ago I used, and was quite good at scripting, for BT, but using a very logical scripting tool called ARC (Automatic Router Configuration).
This would be used for multiple automatic configurations for 100's of routers, by the basic process of a main script, with the commands, calling hosts in sequence from a host file, then reporting pass or failure to a results file.
This in a nutshell was basically what it did, but using almost English words, and logical commands, instead of learning programming language, such as Python or C++, which I have found difficult to get to grips with.
Now I find almost 30 years later, and looking after another large Network, I find I am in a similar situation, where I need to apply a change to multiple switches in my Network. I have tried learning the aforementioned scripting languages, but found them far from logical, and almost as hard as a foreign language to learn.
So I am wondering if there is something out there, similar to the ARC system I mastered all those years ago, but died along with the job. I have not got the backing of a large company behind me, so I would not be looking for an expensive business solution, so I would not be responding to anyone trying to sell me anything, but any true experts out there, with the will and the ability to impart their experience, I would be truly grateful.
Thanks
Chris
