Hey guys...

I was wondering if anyone used Scrivener? I'm about to embark on my undergrad dissertation and I was wondering if it would be worth using it instead of MS Word.

What is the referencing like in it? Can it auto-create a bibliography and can I specify how it does referencing and the bibliography?

My department always wants it to look like 'this is a quote' (IceBus 2009: 1) for Harvard and looking at EndNote it would be a bit of a nightmare to use for a heavily referenced work...

Any thoughts/suggestions extremely welcome!

Thanks!

Check out LaTeX - I used it to write my dissertation last year. You'll have to put in maybe 1-2 hours practice with it just to see how it works, but the output looks fantastic, and it really lends itself towards dissertation writing. Check it out, it's definitely worth it - and it's free!

Doesn't Office 2008 have an auto-bibliography feature?

Yes, but you can't edit the formatting as far as I can tell :( LaTex doesn't really look like my cup of tea. I really don't want to transition away from WYSIWYG
