SCSI Controller Card - LSI Logic

A friend is offering me a LSI LOGIC 53C896 SCSI controller card + 80gig drive. I don't know much about SCSI, is the card any good? How much is it worth? I haven't got details of the drive yet.

The card is only Ultra2 Wide so 80Mbs transfer rates rather than the 160Mbs or 320Mbs available from newer cards. This will only be an issue if you start adding multiple drives to the card at which point you'd be saturating the PCI bus with a faster card anyway.

So if it's offering as in giving then go for it, should be a nice intro to SCSI, especially if the drive is decent.
