How about a scuba diving thread?
Post pictures, videos, stories, your favourite spots, etc.!

Here's a few snaps to start (pretty poor quality I'm afraid, only had an old compact!):

Marsa Alam, Egypt:
We were really lucky and saw a couple of turtles grazing just off the beach :)

You don't realise how big they are until you see them in the flesh.

We also saw a Dugong. He was a bit miffed about being around us, and didn't stay still long enough to get a decent picture :( Really impressive, though, and these things can shift when they want to! We spent a good 20 mins playing cat and mouse with him.

I've got a few more but I'll leave them for now. Just thought I'd get the ball rolling :)

Totally forgot I started this thread! :o
Nice pics chaps :)
I have a few from Cape Verde last Easter, but they're all rather rubbish unfortunately. Going diving all over SE Asia in November so hopefully I'll have something to post then.

Abu Dabbab?

Yeah, Abu Dabbab. We stayed on Coraya Beach but turtles and dugongs are a bit of a rarity up there, so we took a trip out to see them.

Amazing pictures guys. How did everyone learn - did you do it on holiday or in the UK?

Half and half. I did a PADI referral, so all my pool dives and classes were done in the UK, then I finished it off with my ocean dives when I got to Egypt. That way I didn't have to dive in our horrible cold British sea, or train in a dry suit for it. :D
