I always think it's a curse that my brain spots imperfections and is so sensitive to colour mismatches etc..

According to this Paintwork damage scratch repair is £150 average UK cost…

It doesn’t say that, besides my local smart repair man quoted me £175 which is his lowest price band. That's more likely a smart repair cost...
FWIW, I got the corner of my Merc sprayed for £180 at a small one man bodyshop and it was flawless (I don't use that word lightly either). I can't believe how well he got the paint to match up. He said that if he can't get the paint to match with the wing he might have to blend into the wing which would then cost more, but thankfully he didn't need to.180 isn't a half bumper respray as no reputable body shop would either
a) spray half a bumper or
b) do it for that price when mixing paint costs almost half that before even starting to do any work
There’s different part numbers for different colors. As long as I get the right paint color it should match the rest of the car.Think you could still be concerned by colour matching - paint, in the field, weathers - UV etc.
(before diddums says you may need some fasteners/bolts in reserve ... )
If it comes pre painted from the manufacturer I see no reason why it won’t be an exact match.![]()
am I reading this right? You want a new bumper, which will have mismatching paint, to solve a 1" scratch in the lacquer? Is that what's going on?
Not much it’s parked in an underground car park and I always drive in the early hours. It’s not been in direct sunlight for very long.Because your car has been out and about in the sunshine...
Not saying I’ll go ahead with it by any means, just trying to price it up. More I look at it less I want it done.Still seems like overkill. Little wet sand and some touch up pens with some clearcut on top.
According to this it typically takes 5 to 10 years for the sun to fade a vehicle’s paint.Because your car has been out and about in the sunshine...
I bought some Peugeot ZIRCON GREY Code: KTB Touch up paint 15ml from eBay for £3.95 in July 2014 for my old Peugeot 107 and it wasn’t great. I would assume a manufactured part like a bumper would be much better. My parents bought an OEM touch up pen from a dealer with the same white paint code as their car. It literally looks like they used tipex to touch up the scratches, it's so laughably bad I can't believe it's been supplied by the dealer as a perfect match.
