, my oldest son's Stolen 'Pinch' (yes the PC laughed at the irony when he attended), just got him it at christmas and his best mates WeThePeople-dont know the model were taken from a conservatory on the front of his mates house last night.

Anyone gets offered either brand of these bikes cheap in the wakefield area likely normanton (both black), they maybe the one's.

I would love to find the scumbag/scumbags who did this, insurance should take care of the loss but my 11yo boy is heart broken, his friend too, I took ages choosing my boys bike for christmas just to be sure it would be what he would choose, I am .

That sucks, remember when my £1300 bike was stolen, luckily i spread the word and get it back (idiot took it into a bike shop i had told about the incident).

It is likely the bike has been stripped or painted etc by now, so i wouldnt get your hopes up. Still call the local bike shops and let them know just incase the bike gets taken in. If the shops are anything like my local shops then they will be more then happy to keep an eye out.

I didn't realise just how shameless people can be till I bought a decent bicycle. The rule, as you've doubtless learned, is that you have to lock them up very well. Since I bought my bicycle I've had the seat cover stolen twice, the front lights stolen twice, the back light stolen, the front wheel reflector stolen and the seat clamp [yes, not the seat itself but the clamp - probably just done to annoy me].

I know that they would have taken the wheels or the bike itself had they not been as well locked as they were. I once even came back to the bicycle to find two guys standing over it and discussing how they were going to get through the d-locks.

well its your fault for leaving parts that are easy to remove ON the bike.. like lights.. i always take my back light off..

Blimey, where do you live? Helmand Province?

I will admit it's my fault, mostly. But still, leaving your biked outside a shop for ten minutes and having your lights stolen is pretty crap.

I don't think it's area-specific. Any bike owner will tell you that things get stolen all the time. My cousin has had a total of five bikes stolen, once when he was riding one.

I'd say it's actually the fault of the theif! I guess the answer is to get the worst bike you can find and paint it pink :D

Just don't take any liberties with bikes, if they're on view, they'll get pinched, if they're not locked up, they'll get stolen, and even then if someone wants it, they'll be able to get it.

They should be in the house, away from view and always locked up or else it's asking for it really.

This is actually a rule that a lot of people go by in London. A lot of long-term bike owners end up riding the crappiest bikes they reasonably can because no-one wants to steal them.

i used to ride bmx in some dodgy areas of Birmingham, best thing to do is give it a crappy paint job (i used black heat resistant paint on most of my bikes they looked like someone just dragged them out of a fire)one of my builds cost around 700 but it didnt look it ,next bike ditch the stickers and the flash paint job.
hope you find the bikes though mate

Had mine stolen a year ago. Was locked up with an above average cable lock that was easily 3x as thick as most of the other ones around it. Shame mine was the better bike :@

"pinch", "we the people".....

Are these brands of bike or just people naming their bikes, what happened to names such as raleigh and Muddy Fox etc....

By the looks of things they're brand names. But they're very expensive, hundreds of pounds each. They're not cheap Raleigh jobs. I'm thinking they weren't locked well enough with d-locks, in which case my sympathy for the OP diminishes. You don't buy an expensive bike and then fit it with crappy locks [and anything less than two d-locks per bike is crappy].
