Even in Concorde with the visor up I can still see 50 ft ahead of me. lol.

Some planes have very poor visibility out the front on approach. The aircraft I've flown are particularly good tho, especially the Grob 109.

You don't need to flare a craft like that though (flaring is angling the aircraft upwards while dropping throttle to use it as a big speed brake), you should still be able to see out front. :confused:

The picture probably doesnt tell the whole story of course, and the pilot may well have had a sick plane already, among other possibilities. Still seems weird though..

How did it stay on top of the aircraft? The Red one was said to be waiting to take off ie stationary.
Did it just stop dead when it landed on top!?

Small aircraft/low approach speed coupled with a headwind probably.
