Hi guys, i recently purchased a lian-li V1000 case, and the cooling oin it really isnt all that amazing, especially for my chipset...My cpu temperatures are the same as they were in my old chieftec dragon case...

Basically, for me to adequetly cool my NB etc i've had to hang a 90mm fan on top of my cdrom via some velcro ties, this however does solve the heat issue i was having...But i was thinking would it be worth me getting a Kama bay or anything? mainly as its actually designed for the purpose that im curretly bodging in my case, the only downside is the fact i wont be able to add a second dvd drive if i ever need too...although i do ill just buy a Dvd-rw anway so that would replace my dvd-rom combo drive i have currently.

Who else has this case? Had similar problems or not? Feedback is highly appreciated :)

Regards,

Delvis.

i have the kama bay with the 800rpm fan, quiet but practically no cfm tbh, i had to drill holes in my Thermaltake Shark (as it uses the bay rod things) to mount the kama

im thinkin of changing the fan to an akasa amber to give a bit more pressure

Have you mounted it vertically? Cause when you do that you remove the 5.25" blanking bay covers...leaving the fan open..well, behind a mesh anyway.

Just trying to think of other way to col my northbridge etc :)

yes, its mounted vertically with the bay covers removed ofcourse.

Strange, you would think the air would go through, suppose you could always remove the filter ;)

So...You recommend it? Or?

I have one. Thought itd help a lot, but it doesnt contribute that much, heres mine:

Id say get it and hook it upto a fan controller to up the RPM, or buy a new fan which already has a faster RPM. Im thinking of taking the dust filter out and just cleaning it more often.

Also another mod iv just done, i have a Gigabyte Aurora 3D case with side window panel, i was after the grilled side panel for better ventilation but i couldnt get it, i cant find and suitable mesh or a spare grille, so iv put tights over the panel...yes TIGHTS, black ones. The reason for doing this is that when i take my side panel off my temps drop by 5°C. I also plan to build an arm on the inside of the panel and stick a 12cm noctua fan on it, possibly two...one over my CPU and one over my graphics card.

spot cools are really good and nicely flexible, they rock.

i lurve my chieftec dragon, why would you ever wanna get rid of it?

Well i've still got it, mainly wanted a case that could house some 120mm fans cause i was fed up with the noise it was producing...but atm its really not that much different :S...and the fact none of my temps have dropped makes an even bigger annoyance about the purchase :(....cant believe i have to put a 90mm fan whre there isnt 'suppose' to be one just to bloomin cool my chipset :S...

I have one with an Akasa blue LED fan on a fan controller.

Works very nicely to cool the hdd's i have behind!
