Hi,

My Kaze Master fan controller has stopped working because power cable broken and I need a replacement power cable.

The cable is a 1 x 4-pin (male) molex to 4-pin (female) molex with mini 4-pin connector power cable and connects to the connector highlighted on the pic below:

I know that on one end there is a molex connector but don't know what mini 4-pin connector is called but I have seen it before on other fan controllers.

Does anyone where I can get a replacement cable?

Thanks

The connector is a JST XHP-4 and is used on graphics cards and also a lot of consumer electronics to connect various PCB together and as we see here on fan controller.

The problem here is that the connector seems to be running both 12v and 5v in so you'd need basically to get an identical cable, or make one up yourself.

What's wrong with the cable you already have?

It should be simple enough to make your own cable though, that is, if you have a Molex extension and a PWM adaptor such as this....

...Chop off standard 4 pin PWM adaptor. Chop off wires from Molex. Solder wires to the correct position on the connector, insulate. Job done. Well maybe not quite that simple but still shouldn't be more than a 5 minute job. I've made some of my own fan power cable assemblies for my rig and found it quite rewarding to do things in a different way to my own specification.

Thanks for the advice but my soldering skills are pretty awful and there was no chance in hell of me repairing the cables on my own.

In the end, I contacted Scythe using their European forums and they ended up sending me a replacement cable and even included a spare!

They replied back almost instantly and only required a copy of my invoice but their customer service was excellent throughout and I'd definately continue to buy Scythe products in the future knowing that it there was a problem, it'd get sorted swiftly.:)
