Scythe Mine + DS4 = Not Compatible!?

Hi, part way through my first build (it is taking hours because lots keeps going wrong  ) and one thing I am not happy about is the fact that the LGA775 fasteners that come with the Mine won't allow me to seat the damn thing on the DS4 ... the capacitors around the CPU make contact with the fasteners so only 3 of the 4 pushpins (the idiot who invented those wants a good kicking btw) will seat

So I've had to put the stock cooler on.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Will I be able to return the Mine to OC?

this is your 3rd thread on the subject? come on, you dont need to post it in as many sections as you can.

I doubt you can take it back, but did you check for compatibility first if it really doesnt fit?

Yeah, well spotted Einstein. Have a look at the part in the mobo forum asking a mod to delete that post. And the other post was before I worked out that it was not actually compatible and had different content.

do you want help or not?

Yes, that was why I posted. But I assumed you were not going to give it as you had the opportunity to give it at the same time as alerting me to the triple/double post, but chose not to.

Edit: just saw your edit ... I always google extensively before posting anywhere. Those links do not actually assist.

dcat those links do actually work  , and just a word of wisdom i see your new to the forums and i would recommend dropping the attitude people here aren't out to get you we are only trying to help you out!

back to the topic i doubt they wil accept a return due to someone not checking for compatability, you may be lucky though

I'd be inclined to say they wont replace it, its down to the buyer to check compatability.

For the record, any regular user or mod here would point out the multiple post thing, its not a stab at you personally, just giving you an advanced warning before you get warned by a mod.

Yes, I see what you're saying and take it on board. However, in my defence, I didn't see "come on, you dont need to post it in as many sections as you can." as being overly nice to me. But, apologies to those who I've offended.

Regarding compatibility, given that it is a 775 board and a 775 cooler, is this not as sufficient a compatibility check as I could do?

i agree with you here and no hard feelings btw :) yes if they state it's socket 775 compatible then yes in theory it should fit but motherboards are different nowadays and sometimes certain configurations don't work as you have found out the hard way! there should be a note saying "*this cooler may not fit all current 775 motherboards" problem is until a guinea-pig such as yourself tells them it doesn't work they have no impression that it won't! i would have thought you will be able to return it!
