Hey all. I'm thinking about upgrading to socket 1155 in the near future from 775, and was wondering if my current CPU cooler, a Scythe Ninja 2 RevB, will fit on the 1155 board. Is it a similar fixing, or would I need to get a newer cooler?

As well as this, since the upgrade won't be for a good couple of months yet, currently the fan supplied with the cooler is giving up the ghost (after 5 hard years); what should I replace it with? Would it need to be a PWM fan?

Sorry for the relatively newbish questions, I realise the first one could probably be a very stupid one :o

According to Scythe website the cooler supports 1156 so should fit 1155 as well but you may have purchased it before they added that particular bracket to the kit. It may be possible to buy the 1155/56 kit from Scythe though.

As for the fan. Use whatever you wish, it looks to be just a standard 120mm fan. PWM control will go nicely with the motherboard and give you the ability to automatically reduce the speed of the fan at idle and increase it when under load conditions via your motherboard PWM fan controller.
