Hey,

I have just installed my scythe ninja. However I have only just noticed that the cable from the fan is 3pin and the cpu fan on the motherboard is 4 pin. Now my power supply has a cable for extra fans in which i can plug the 3 pin into and then the cable into a 4 pin directly to the power supply. Is this ok or is it essental that i plug the fan into the cpu cooler thing on the motherboard.

Thanks.

It'll be OK. You may get CPU fan error messages, but you can ignore it, as long as the fan is working ;)

Ok cheers, it'll get my system up and going anyway until i can buy a convertor tomorrow. Cheers mate

I plugged the Ninja fan directly to the motherboard, it's not a high RPM type so should be ok. So I have fan monitoring and speed control.

yeah a ds4, room temperature about 18-20 deg.

When i was running celeron 326, with stock cooler it was at around 27 idle and 40 full load.

Yeah, Im running an overclocked 6300 on a DS4 and the bios thinks its running at 25C load  Coretemp puts it at about 45 which I think is about right. I'd reccomend using that
