Scythe Ninja - fanless with E8400

I was just wondering has anyone used the Scythe Ninja without the fan with a E8400 safely and what sort of temps you experienced?

I know if using higher end cpus it is recommended to use the fan but the E8400 is supposed to be pretty good because it's 45nm.

Failing that I'm looking at getting one of the asus silent square models, asus v-60, or asus silent knight 1/2 maybe.

I have used the Thermalright HR-01 with the fan duct with an E8400 and it was fine. Not overclocked at all, but it probably could have been.
