Hey all

Had a look at the Scythe Ninja and it's a pretty big piece of kit! Was just thinking, when mounted on the mobo and in a tower case, it must put a serious strain on the motherboard. It's so heavy - I can't see how it withstands that kind of weight!

Any explanation or feedback would be useful. Thanks.

There's a large metal backing, so the load should be spread over a few inches. Biggest worry if it falls off- it'll damage the videocard! It's not the heaviest HSF (Zalman 7700 is heavier?)

its actually not that heavy, yes its heavier than others. but the huge bracket you get with it distributes the weight very well. i really dont think its that much of a problem

All the weight is in the base too so the centre of gravity is very close to the mobo. I'd be more worried by an XP120 than a Ninja.

Yeh its not very heavy, but it was a bugger to fit in my case as there is such little room :(, but yeh the bracket that fits under the motherboard supports it very well, excellent cooler :)

Whats the weight of the Scythe Ninja compared to the Tuniq Tower 120 ? I should have Tuniq Tower arriving any day soon. Also worried about my dfi mb flexing with the tuniq tower on even with backplate, from pictures it looks huge
