Is the Scythe Ninja Plus the best option if you intend to use the 120mm fan?
i.e. is the whole point of the cooler that it can be used passive?

My a64 3200+ @2.5ghz, 1.45v is idling at up to 38/39c and I would like to drop it a bit if possible!

Also can someone recommend a 120mm case fan to add to my Sonata II or would a second Antec one be just as good?

Thanks

Scythe ninja was orrigionally designed as a silent cooling solution, but has shown itself to be very effective as a cooler with a fan. Many people on these forums believe it to be the best active air cooling solution available.

For airflow in a case the most effective solution will be exhast airflow = intake airflow. Some people prefure slightly higher intake to get a positive presure to reduce dust. Based on this alone using the two of the same type of fan will be better than mixing and matching.

Hope the advice helps.

Nice one thank you!

Been reading a few reviews and now can’t choose between the Scythe Ninja Plus (with fan) or the Ultra 120 (fan extra)!

The Ultra looks pretty good but will come in at around £50 with fan compared to £38 for the Ninja ...I know its only £12 but I could put that towards my 2gb kit or some Magners!
