SD card reader

I am struggling with a USB SD card reader and my PC.

I thought my memory card was corrupt as everytime I tried to write to it I got a blue screen of death and system reboot, I junked the card and tried another, still same issue, tried the new card in my laptops inbuilt card reader and it wrote fine.

Figured it was the card reader gone corrupt.

Bought a new card reader and getting exactly the same issue, try to write to a card and blue screen of death, stick card in laptop all writes perfectly fine.

Is it a driver issue on my desktop pc or what can I do to fix this??

Just tried the usb card reader in my laptop and that writes to the card all fine, so it has to be something on my pc.

Checked device manager and it picks card reader up with no errors?

Have you done the obvious like change cables and USB ports including the ones on the motherboard itself?

I've tried different usb ports, front, rear and still the same, usb2 and 3.
