Sd Card speeds

I see OCUK have them at speeds of 133x is this the fasted SD card speed there is? Also dose anyone know the speed of the Wii stamped sandisk SD cards are?

You see I hear transfering games from SD to the Wii's internal flash takes ages and I want a quick process.

Virtual Console games can be transfered to an SD card if you internal flash on the Wi is getting full but games can not be played from the SD card. Games can only be played when in the Wiis internal flash memory. I'v herd it's faster just to redownload the games than transfer them back from the SD card to the internal memory. So I want some extremely fast SD memory. I've seen the 2Gb running at x133 but I have no idea about SD speeds and so on,

ok cool, but are you sure that the virtual console games will work when you re transfer them onto the Wii from the SD card?

You may also be limited to what speed the Wii can read the memory.

SD should not be slow at all, it can handle reasonable large camera photos at high transfer speeds.

What is your source that it takes silly amounts of time?

I certainly would be surprised if the Wii transfered slower than 8mbs from a SD card, can not see Ninty making a mess of things like that.

Not got a Wii but I have lots of cards I could use to test when mine comes. Certainly should not run slow, if it does thats a major issue!

I doubt the Wii stamped card is any faster than x66. As the 1 gig card is what 17.99, thats x66 speeds or less imho. Otherwise I'd use the Wii badged one in my camera.

In the manual that comes with the Wii it says nothing about limit to speed or capacity.

Just formated a 256mb SD card which was in my PDA to fat32 and put in I copied Dungeon Explorer to it and it took ages. It would have been faster to re-download it. One of them x133 speed cards looks like a must and I'd buy one straight away from overclockers but no one has yet conferm the 2gb x133 corsair ones work with the Wii.

well, i can confirm that my 512mb fuji xd card and sd-adaptor work perfectly well. i copied bomberman over and back almost as quickly as i could select the options, though sonic 'can not be copied' for some reason :s

You can get 150x cards cheap.
