SD Mem card

my missus just bought a new 1gb SD Memory card, but we cant do anything with it, as it comes up write protected no matter where I put the lock, and I cant format it or make a folder on it,

can someone tell me what I'm missing please, it happens with all my other SD cards too

not MMC or CF Just this and I'm about to chuck it out the window

If it happens with all your SD cards (you must have more than one) then it could well be a faulty card reader in what ever your plugging them into.

tried in my printer aswell as the card reader still nothing
