SD memory cards?

Just a quick question I need a new SD card for my camera am I right in saying you can only use a SD HC card with HC enabled devices?
If so where would I find out if my camera has HC support?

It's a hitachi HDC-646E

Obvious place would be the manual, but I'm guessing you don't have access to one. Conflicting information on the internet - shops (obviously) say it will take up to 4GB SDHC, a couple of users have said the maximum is 1GB SD.

After a quick google a certain online shop seems to think your camera can take sdhc cards. I dont know what their prices are like because I havent bought a SD card for years but if you bought it from them and it didnt work then you could send it back.

Officially it only supports 1GB but I've had 2GB in it working fine.

can get a 4GB non HC or a 8GB HC for about the same price £14 . Choices choices.
