Basically we changed the tv downstairs so now I have a 28" panasonic quintrix in my room - either to get rid of or keep. Now we're ordered telewest HD and opted to keep the old box. I'll now need the panny crt for the cable box. Should I hook my 360 up to that? I'll get sound (one BIG problem atm unless i mess around with headphones). ATM I run my 360 in 720 on my 21.1" widescreen tft. It looks a tad dull tbh - I'm not sure if the crt would improve it.

If you have both sets on hand, why not test it yourself?

Heh, posting a question that goes a few hundred miles to a server, from there potentially thousands of miles to hundreds of different people, and replicated in Google's cache.... when a few minutes and a total travel distance of under 500 metres could have solved the issue :D

Probably like me, I hate unpluging things, moving them around plugging them back in etc etc :p

For me the clarity of the picture via VGA is the deciding factor. However it all depends on your room lay out, ie from where you play your 360 would the extra screen size make a difference? Is the tv in a better position for you to slob out on a sofa or bed whilst playing or do you prefer to play sitting upright on a computer chair. Is one suited better for two player games and is that even a consideration to you. Loads of factors to consider basically.

The point is that there's no right or wrong answer as to which is better, because it's down to personal preference. So the OP can only answer his question by trying it for himself.

I think it's more down to me not having sount on my current setup. Oh and it doesn't look anywhere near as good on my monitor as it does connected via compononent downstairs. The only thing is I wouldn't be able to use it much downstairs hence I keep it up stairs!
