As title really, I'm interested in a new system and like the idea of a shuttle. Are there any issues I should be aware off? I don't overclock anymore. How much ram can they take as I would like to head to 4Gb eventually, also can they take an nvidia 8800 for example?

Thanks for the replies guys... Have you experienced any negatives with them? Performance issues, sound issues etc?

The onboard sound is OK, a RealTek chip I think.

There is no PCI slot, so make sure the Shuttle has everything you need. It's got onboard networking, USB2, firewire etc.

You've got Crossfire slots but no support for SLI. So you're stuck with 1 NVidia card.

Oh, and you'll need a USB keyboard, no PS2 port. That caught me out and my Old IBM keyboard now gathers dust.

The rearmost SATA lead is a gnats whisker short and had to be rerouted to reach the HD on mine.

Apart from those niggles I like it, the fanspeed options in the bios are ace and it's got basic overclocking options though nothing fancy.

The next few weeks should see mine watercooled throughout which is gonna be a tight squeeze.

Hmm... Is there any option for a wireless connection? I recall that some of the SN95G5's had that option, does this?

I was going to say "obviously", but I need to bear in mind you may not be familiar with the layout :)

so a pci card will not fit, and if you intended to fit a second gtx then the PSU would probably throw a fit :)
Hmmm so if I wanted a wireless network card, it wouldn't fit because a dual slot gpu card would obscure the single 1xpci-e slot?

I hadn't seen that PN18 wifi adaptor. The last one I had seen was only for the G5's... That could be quite good then, would save using up a slot.
