Hello :)

It's time to replace my struggling SN95G5. I was thinking of something like:

Shuttle SD39P2
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 2900 XT
Geil Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6400 Dual Channel memory kit
~£900 in total

I'll be using my current OS (XP), monitor (23" ACD) and optical/hard drives (74gb raptor & 2x 500gb 7200.9s).

I've been out of the hardware game for ~3 years so just wanted to make sure everything looked ok :)

Thanks a lot.

Looks good dude, only thing i'd change is the cpu. your paying £60 for 270mhz extra clock speed over the E6600. if you were that bothered about that you'd be able to clock the E6600 to E6700 with no problem what so ever

Nice, thanks :) We shall see if my patience can hold I guess :D

I've been reading up on the 2900 more, bit of a shame as I have always been very happy with Sapphire's ATi cards in the past. I think I may end up going for an 8800 GTX (fits, surprisingly) instead.

Thanks again.

Literally wait for ONE month, because the CPU prices are crashing very soon.
Quad cores will hover at £160 ish

ah yes. do this :)

its unfortunate as I also need a new PC (thinkin quad cos i have a lot of 3DS to do) but can't really wait till the 22nd. the longer i wait the less time i have to do my final year project at uni.

God damn the 22nd!!! :(
