SDRAM for Dell laptop Celeron 497mhz

My friend has Dell Inspiron 3800 - Celeron 497mhz & 64mb pc100 ram.

I have looked at Crucial Memory Advisor Tool and pc133 is recommended but there are different 3800s so just to be on safe side, I have checked couple of other memory sites, they recommended pc100 and did not mention of pc133.

Service tag is missing from the laptop.

I wonder if it is possible to install pc133 ram and still have backward compatible for pc100?

Don't trust the Crucial memory advisor, it's prone to lying.

PC133 memory is backward compatable so if you run it in a computer that only supports PC100 it will default to those speeds.
