Got it sorted, rang the 24h emergency number and it took the guy about 30secs to try both lines

We have 2 SDSL lines at work, one isn't working but the ISP needs the phone number to sort it.

Now i know its one of two numbers and both ring when dialed. Rhe wall plug is just an RJ11 with a computer symbol on it, so i assume if i do find the correct lead a bog standard phone won't work :(

Any ideas how to work out which is which?

SDSL lines won't work for voice calls, they have a CBUK number associated, it should be printed on the box for future reference

they still ring though, was very suprised when they did to be honest..

I was tempted to take face plate off to see if theres a UK socket underneath

Thats right, ISP's can datafill an SDSL line - meaning its converted into a voice line and attach a number to it. This is done for testing purposes to test the physical line connectivity.
