Hi,

BT recently installed SDSL for us, but the engineer didn't wire the cables to the faceplate. I have been left with a Green cable and an Orange Cable, and on the back of the face plates are points to connect the cables to numbered 1 to 6.

I just wondered if anyone would be able to tell me which cable goes where.

Cheers.

Personallu I would have called them back up because it's their job to make sure its finished. I wouldn't dare for the world touch a configuration that someone has started especially with SDSL. Ring them up see what they say.

Hi,

I should have said before that I work for the ISP that is involved in this. I have been in contact with the BT SDSL provisioning department directly but they refused to give me the information and said I have to email them which I know will take an age.

It's not really a problem more of an inconvenience.

Many thanks for the quick response though! :)

Your welcome, I'm not up on sdsl configs but is it the same as adsl wiring? if so the above link will help.

If you work with the ISP then I'm sure you would have got the job done quicker by them? Well thats if they any good since you work with them.

ha. excuse me, ive been in the pub for lunch.. christ knows what im on about, we've got SDSL here and theres no filters on them..

i'll sit down and be quiet now.

:D It's ok hehe! I was already aware how SDSL functions/works, it is just we have never had a BT Engineer not actually wire the faceplate to the circuit before and are now getting nagged to get it sorted ASAP.

Just thought I'd try my luck here as know there some bright sparks amongst you lot! :)

Three fixed-rate bands: 512kbps, 1Mbps, 2Mbps. Same speed both ways, and no voice service.
There is a distance limit, but it's hard to correlate with ADSL because you get some "optimised routing" as part of the install.

Isn't SDSL disappearing with 21CN?
