SE and SR Engine

Hey guys,

Very quick one if you can...What is the difference between an SE engine and and an SR engine?

Also, what do they both stand for?

Oh ok lol

What I mean is my mates car, he has a 1.6 Golf and on the engine it says SR, wondered what it meant?? Ive heard of SE - That is all

Also asking what they both stood for, as in the initials - more power ?? etc..
