I'm in the market for a small PAYG music phone. I'm on a fairly tight budget and need a basic camera on it too. I'm not too bothered whether it's a candybar or slide. I adore the look of the w910i but that's out of my price range right now. So I was looking at the w580i instead.

However, I've just seen the Nokia 5310 and its very nice indeed. It's certainly a very thin and light phone with a standard 3.5mm jack.

Any opinions on these, or even better any comparisons, would be much apprciated.

I have a s500i running w580 firmware (basically the same phone), and its great. For music you have the walkman 2.0 software. Depends if you want dedicated buttons on the side as the nokia has those. Also the fitness software might be handy as well? its quite well built and the OS is nice and easy to use like most SE phones.

Thanks. Don't need the fitness software but do like SE phones. Still interested in any other views though :)

Well, I liked the design of the W580i (and S500i for that matter) but I ruined 3 or 4 of the things by cracking the buttons, it could be exceptional finger strength but somehow I doubt it. However I was told that I was the only person that the shop had heard of to have broken one phone in this manner never mind multiple ones so it may be just unfortunate but I shifted to a W880i and haven't looked back.

I haven't used the 5310 that I know of but I've always found Nokia phones to be pretty solidly built and easy to use. :)
