SE w810i Problems?

Hello all,

I've just got my new phone, a SE w810i and I wanted to try out the camera so read the manual to double check how to do it.

I hold down the camera button on the side and the screen changes to a viewfinder. The viewfinder is full of white noise, like a snowy picture on a poorly tuned TV. I hold it half way down anyway and the green light comes on and it focus' on the object you are pointing at.

I then press it all the way down and it makes the shutter sound, then returns to the main menu?!?!

I thought OK, maybe this is how SE phones work. So I go to file manager > Pictures > Camera Pictures, ensuring that I'm on both memory card and phone memory and it says 'no files'.

Is this a known problem with the phone? Or something I'm doing? Is there newer firmware out I can try before having to phone 02 up tomorrow?

i think u have a faulty phone. Mine does nothing like you described. Best get a replacement.

Yup seems like it mate, mine doesnt do that at all. Get yourself a fully working one mate and i guarantee you will love it...i adore mine

yeah it had it. it sounds to me that the cam is not relaying a signal to the screen

Well I gave them a call today and they received the phone yesterday and have re-ordered me a handset. Sweet!

Very happy with the service, let's hope Mr. DHL doesn't drop this handset, as I think that's what happened last time.

i've never had a problem with O2...i'm used to orange, who never seem to answer the phone. O2's customer service has always been second-to-none and i've been with them for the last 2 years. all my friends use them from my recommendation!!
