SE X10 or Samsung galaxy s?

Hi all,

I've had a good read on here about the two and i'm really stuck about which one to get! I've had a play with both of them and i'm swaying towards the X10 due to looks more than anything as i'm not too keen on the iphone type look the galaxy has but thats about it.

A few opinions would be nice just to help me decide and a list of the benefits of android 2.1-2 over 1.6 would be of help.

well galaxy s has better specs but yes its fugly. my thinking is what do we even need such a powerful cpu for ? 1ghz isnt exactly laggy on any of the phones that use it.

the main difference between x10 1.6 and 2.1 is errrr live wallpapers. and the x10 2.1 is literally round the corner. roms and videos of it have been leaking

anyway youve tried them both. so you probably know better than the crowd of people who are going to come in here defending what they own ;)

To be fair though 2.2 is just around the corner for the galaxy :o

Either go and have a look at them , I looked at them aall desire included and I decided on the Samsung . But it all depends on what suits you :)

I do like the style of the X10 (the wife has one so i set it all up for her) but SE are pretty poor when it comes to updates.

What makes you not want the Desire or Dell streak? The dell does have a large screen but that's not so much of a bad thing :) (If i didn't have a Desire i would get one)
 
why even consider the desire ? poormans nexus one ?

he said why he considered it anyway. because its not fugly. id guess he wants 4'' screen judging by his choices too

does the galaxy s have 2.2 ? pretty sure it doesnt so not sure why neodite just listed all its features
 
Because Samsung will have it before the SE. (If SE release 2.2 on the X10 at all)

And how is a Desire a poor mans Nexus? They are pretty much the same phone :p and not much in price either?

Nothing wrong with SE support, they have had a steady steam of updates since the handset was first launched.

Yes, it runs Android 1.6 but in three to eight weeks is due to have a update to Android 2.1 & the 2.2 isn't too far behind that which will stop allot of these pointless arguments.

TBH Just try both the handset in question and go from there (Also make sure they are both running the latest firmware)

As i put in my first post the main thing putting me off the desire is the look of it mainly which is probably a stupid reason tbh! Now i'm assuming the icons on the galaxy can be customised as the stock iphone looking icons don't really float my boat.

Also, can it be debranded and if so would this make much of a difference?

Id recommend buying a handset from CPW to start with as they are not network branded out the box :D

You can change the icon by using different launchers and using themes.

Do this! The last thing you want after you have waited for an update is to wait even LONGER for your network to prat about with it too and make you get it a month later :p
 
Haha i would if i had the cash but it's an upgrade! I have no idea why i'm so torn, it's only a blimming phone for christs sake! :rolleyes::D
