In short, buying my nephews a Xbone when I return back to the UK at the end of the month and one game they are super excited to play is SoT. They are 6 and 8 years old so I think it's the perfect game for them.

I recently found out it's cross platform so I'm wondering if I should pick it up on the PC? But as a veteran gamer, I know it was a total sham when it first released but just wondering if they have ditched it or actually added any content to it since it's release?

Bout 6-8 hours and you are done ;P

You can play it for free with game pass free trial.

Annoyingly, didn't know this until the wife and I bought it last night. We had a blast, we've been looking for a game to play on our down time together and this fits the bill perfectly. Super basic, no progression. Just a couple of hours here and there doing silly little adventures. We enjoyed it a lot last night.

I imaging it will wear thing in a few weeks though.

It's getting there - it's a great game to play with friends when you want to chill out. The latest update added in AI galleons which are great fun to shoot up, and there's the Alliance system for teaming up. It's a little less aggressive and a bit more co-op. I'm enjoying it whilst waiting for BF5 :)

Works on pc yes. If you search around you can get a month for £1.50, redeem the code in the Windows store and away you go

Wow nice one just had a look didn't know they sold them on keysites.

is that for the PC? I can only see xbox info when I search

Yeah all the games that are play anywhere and on xbox pass you can.

There is about 10 games in total including gears of war 4 and halo wars 2.

I recommend this game to anyone tbh. I dont get the "it will get quite boring quite quickly" comment. Potentially playing it solo yes, however in a duo or full crew the game is a hoot. New content/quests being added all the time keeps it fresh.

I for one can't see me shelving the game any time soon.

Yeah, solo it's not so much fun but with a few mates it's great fun. I'm not that interested in the quests, but love the whole ship battles, nailing a good shot with a cannon is ridiculously satisfying :)
