Sea spray: safe to just wipe off front element with lens cloth?

I don't have any filters for my 14-24 yet, just wondering if it's safe to wipe sea spray off the front element with a lens cloth?
Just wondered if the salt could be a problem and become abrasive or something?

Yeah quick brush with the bristles of a lens pen and then a breath on the lens and use a cloth or t shirt.

Or I use eclipse fluid and a lens cloth.

Ok thanks, I don't have a lens pen, but I do have eclipse fluid and lens cloth.
Also I suppose if the spray is still damp, I could just use a lens cloth?

Yeah I'd just make sure the whole front element was wet enough so the salt didn't dry.
