I had a 200gb 7200.7 fail on me a few weeks back and to my suprise it was under warranty until 2010 so Seagate kindly replaced it for me.
Had the drive as a secondary (storage) drive for about a week, but until a few days ago was very quiet but now makes a very strange noise.
To explain the noise it sounds like water running down a drain in the street.
My missus actually though she could hear water running and i put it down to water in the kitchen sink.
The noise is intermittent and not that loud but is Quite annoying, any ideas what it could be?
I don't think it's going to fail just maybe a noisy drive, just strange form the normal chuntering of a fragmented drive.
