Ok people to cut a long story short. I spilt the laptop with coke (liquid) & my insurance company picked it up. They replaced a lot, including the HDD, with a new Seagate OEM 120GB SATA drive. It has a "warranty void if removed sticker" on it.
They sent the laptop back but there was another issue so they picked it again. They wrote off the machine after a complained and gave me the money to buy a new one (nice new blueray laptop now ) but they forgot to tell the repair people and DHL delivered it back in working condition.
I now have two laptops.
BUT
The Saegate HDD in the 'offically written off laptop' has now died. It 'ticks/clicks' from POST and has failed BIOS HDD test. Windows BSOD but most time it simply wont POST.

Now i cant contact the repair people (who i know quite well) because they get paid by my insurance company & they dont know i have the laptop.
This HDD has a warranty, anyone ever got Seagte to replace an OEM HDD???
(oh and the original HDD in my 'written off laptop' was never faulty. Theysent it back in a bag. I just inserted it and my desktop appeared fine. Passed 70minute BIOS HDD test). . . . .
