Surely it also depends on the amount of platters they have as well? A 3tb should have more platters compared to a 1tb HDD anyway, hence why it's faster.

The western doesn't have such shocking reliability issues. At the moment if you get a seagate made in china rather than thailand you might as well just throw it at the wall to make sure it's screwed and send it back for a replacement. Repeat until you get a thai made one. The china manufactured ones are shockingly bad.

I think i will go with Samsung as it has longer warranty and if its bad i will sell it and buy a Seagate.
