Sealed CPU options?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of upgrading my cpu cooling. At the moment there is an fenair Titan air cooler sat on my intel core 2 quad q6600, socket 775.

I know old kit.

I will be upgrading within the next 18 months and so this leaves me with a decision.

I want a water cooler that will fit both this cpu and newer ones once I upgrade.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Hydro H110 280mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060014-WW) £91.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060009-WW) £88.00
Total : £189.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I'd really like the Corsair h100i, but it says it doesn't support my current socket. Do overclockers stock the 775 backplate that can be used to mount this? I know corsair make one but I'd rather not consider importing one?

If I went with the H110, which says it support 775, what do I gain with the 10 and lose with the i? (the corsair link thing isn't it? and is that significant)

I dont think my old coolmaster cosmos I case will have trouble fitting either radiator.

Any advice?

personally I wouldn't water cool your current rig at all. concentrate on the next one and base you buying choices around that.

I started 2 months ago with a 775 CPU and thought about it but in the end made the choice to go new kit all the way as nothing is really compatible from that far back.

Well that is all reasonable then! I was hoping it would help me put my overclock back on while waiting, and I'm impaticent, which meant I'd love to buy something to tinker with while saving for the upgrades! :(

Thanks for the sound advice though!
