Is it possible to seal plastic bags at home. For things like jerky/nuts.
I'm not even sure what to google for.

And if you can any one know how long jerky or nuts would last in such a sealed bag.
Or would vacume sealing be better? And anyone got any equipment and recomed it.

Obviously could use zip lock bags, but, I don't know, I just don't trust them for long term storage.

You can get impulse sealers, which seal polypropylene bags (heavy gauge). These are meant for industrial stuff though, unless the bags are 'food grade'.

Vacuum sealing would be better, not sure about the air trapped in the bag.

If you get a vacuum sealer get one that can attach to plastic canisters and evacuate them as well, you can do some very cool things like accelerated marinades and instant infusions/pickling.
I didn't and I regret it :(
