Search a folder in windows xp?

In the explorer window, look for the search icon on the top. Click it, and then define the search options on the left and make sure you choose the folder you want to narrow it down to. I would have posted Screenshots, but I'm on Vista.

I need it to go to a certain file, but when I search it just brings up a list of files that match the search criteria, I want all the files to show up normally and to just jump to the file I want.

Hmm, right click folder you want to search through, select search, enter file name, search, right click the file you want, open file location.

Something like that? If not please re word what it is you are trying to do.

Cheers. Although I could see what Aod whas getting at, I thought it'd be a little odd to be that.

Glad I could help.

EDIT: Just re-read the posts, I must have had my eyes in upside down when I asked whether it was my answer or Aod's answer!
