Search based ads on Facebook Question

Hi everyone,

I've tried private internet browsers blocking ads and trackers on my PC, but I'm still finding it difficult to stop ads being shown on a family members phone when they are on the Facebook app through the house shared internet. This means a lot of ads for gifts are being displayed on their Facebook feed and kind of spoiling the surprise.

Is there any way of stopping this from happening?

Dont use a shared network. Use mobile data when searching for gifts.

Appreciate it! It's mad though isn't it? Not being able to cut the add off completely, stays in the background like a gremlin.

If he's signed in to Facebook or Google on any app on both devices they'll cross-pollinate. Or if he talks about them, they listen too.

@op use Firefox with Ublock Origin.

Thanks for the suggestion, installed with extension. Firefox felt like it fell off a few years ago, nice to see it back in the topic of conversation
