Hey folks,

I'm customising our websites search form at the moment, it's a simple horizontal input box with a custom "Go" button to left, just like you see on bbc.co.uk, hp.co.uk, microsoft.com etc.

To make people more aware that its a search form I'm trying to put the value of the input box "Search", or "Search <company name>" by simply putting "<input type="text" value="Search">. This works fine in IE, but not in Firefox

So what I'm wondering is what do people think I should put as the default value within the text field ... and also what is the standard way of putting it in? Also, if someone clicks within the input box how can I make the default value automatically disappear?

Thanks for any help/advice given :)
