Searching for Engineering work experience

....for a 15 year old....

It's not easy, probably reflective of the job market currently. If there's any chance anyone has a contact or suggestion for some work experience in mechanical engineering / engineering design please let me know! My lad is in an engineering technical college, doing better than I ever did at school, and we're happy to relocate for the week anywhere in the country.

Emails & phone calls going out to every company and their dog at the moment, but I'm sure there's an opportunity out there we have missed!
 
Is Grantham doable? I used to race with a guy who runs an engineering company there (Iconic Engineering Solutions - They can be found on facebook) still see plenty of updates and he is often involved with various initiatives to encourage youngsters into engineering.

Nothing is outside the realms of possibility! I appreciate the tip and will look them up!

It's appreciated, regardless of the outcome! Just a willingness to receive an email or phone call from the lad himself would be amazing. I'll not broadcast how good we believe he is, but we're happy to support him staying in a hotel for a week anywhere in the country!

Keep phoning round. My company doesn't advertise such placements but have offered them to speculative students who impress us with initiative.
