Searching: PS3 racer with Split-screen & Drones

I'm seeking a racer for the PS3.
However I'd like there to be the option of some split-screen action so that the wife and I can both play at the same time.
However when we do both play at once we would like the races to be populated with "computer controlled" or "drone" cars too.

In the past I've played some good racers and even found some good split-screen options.
But as soon as you do go into split-screen you seem to end up racing one another but nobody else.
And two way races do tend to get a little boring if one of you is a little better than the other.

Please feel free to list any that meet this requirement - not really bothered how old the game is.

As far as I'm aware Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is due to be released in the UK later this month and that has split screen - not sure about the 'drones' though!

i have none like that in my collection

but my g/f got me sega rally cheap after christmas so she could join in

its a great two player game and lots of fun - especially if you are a fan of arcade racers

i would reccommend that

only problem is i cant get on my ps3 atm because of her on uncharted

Not sure - but perhaps Pixeljunk Racer on PSN has those modes? Not got it yet, so can't confirm 100% - perhaps someone else can.

I would try out Burnout Paradise but my mate has had my second pad for about 5 months now

Pixeljunk Racers is more of a puzzle game, but yes it does support up to 4 players with AI cars, but it's not really a racing game per se.
