I'm looking at the Seasonic G series 750W hybrid and EVGA Supernova B2 850W hybrid PSUs but having trouble deciding.

Spec is an FX-8350 and crossfired 7970s.

The Seasonic is 80 Plus Gold rated, the EVGA bronze but that doesn't bother me too much. My personal choice would probably be the Seasonic but I've read good things about EVGA's UK warranty service.

What are Seasonic like when it comes to warranty replacements? Both have 5 years.

Are these PSUs much of a muchness in terms of quality?

I've had a few Corsairs, a HX620 which was great and a TX850 which I never really trusted. A friend had a couple which had to go back for coil whine. I told him to replace the Corsair with a Seasonic which has been perfect since.

I know Seasonic make supplies for Corsair as well, but I'd rather not get another Corsair.

Thanks guys, good point about the cheaper EVGA with higher capacity. I'm not set on those 2, they were just 2 I'd shortlisted from another store which is local to me.

I've found a teardown/review of the Seasonic but can't find one for the B2. Does anyone know any details on it... Specifically brand of capacitors used and fan used.

What's the difference between the B2/G2? Just hybrid/fully modular?

Great stuff, thanks guys.

After checking out prices for the G2 and taking into account the 10 year warranty, I think that's the one to go for.

I think I'd go with the Seasonic over the B2 and as has been mentioned, the Seasonic G series is expensive given the competition.

Now... Do I go with the 750 and save myself £30 or get the 850 just to future proof the machine. Chance of me changing anything in this system in the next 3-5 years is very slim... and if I changed GPU I'd go for a single card which would no doubt use less power than 2 7970s.
