In need of a 750W power supply and I've found the Seasonic Prime PX 750 as my top contender.

Has anyone on this forum got experience with this PSU?

No but the brand is good but if you want to keep it a while and want a new GPU like the Nvidia 3080 etc then I would go a big higher watts, as 750watt is the min rec so IMO 850watt.
I was under the impression 750W would be perfect for the 3080.

Too late though, I've ordered it and it has been dispatched D:

Hopefully I'll be fine!

Probably will but best over-rated than under-rated and you want to keep it for future upgrades.
Are there any disadvantages to having a PSU which is very high in wattage?

Are these units more inefficient at lower lowers? If so, by how much and is it significant?

The ROG 850W Thor looks nice, and is Platinum rated. Would that be more efficient at low loads than a 650W Gold rated PSU?

AFAIK yes and right to near full load where efficiency normally drops abruptly, again go and read up on it.
Tbh my limited understanding of the topic was PSUs with a higher reserve were less efficient than lower wattage models.

But if the 850W platinum is more efficient across low wattage scenarios (eg 50-100W when idling) than a 650W gold, then I'm happy.
