Seasonic replacement cables

I was looking to get some black/red cables to replace the plain black ones on my Seasonic PSU, the only replacement cables I can seem to find are the cablemod ones, but at £90 it seems pretty dramatically overpriced since the PSU itself was only £95.

Does anyone know if the Shakmods black/red cables would work? They are considerably cheaper and seem to be the same thing?

Or is there any reason not to get something like this -

I have had zero problems with Bitfenix and Phanteks extension cables on my current Aerocool Project 7 650w platinum psu, the Superflower G3 750w Gold before that, the Seasonic G series 750w gold before that and the Zalman ZM-HP750w bronze before that. They just work. The downside is finding the space to loose the extra cable length.

Don't tie yourself to one brand. Seasonic are not the only brand worth buying. Corsair, Superflower, Bitfenix, Phanteks and others sell some excellent psu's as well. Personally I would avoid beQuiet and Silverstone, not because they have poor psu's in their lineup but because they tend to be very overpriced and have short warranties.

New to all the extension and cabbling mods hence the reason for asking. Now I've found out that the good quality extension cables don't really matter on what PSU you use them with, they work most of the time. I've ordered a ATX cable extension now, skipping the CPU ones as they are hidden anyway.

My search continues for a 3080 dual 8-pin to 12-pin cable. All the 3 UK small companies that I've asked, and know of, don't do them. I might have to order from outside the UK which will take at least one month, no rush however.

Necroing this thread slightly. Anyone know of anywhere I can get a Seasonic to 12-pin GPU cable for an FE card? I guess 2x8-pin to 12-pin. Or a suitable extension?

I haven't seen any of these FE cables for sale at all but you can get them from some PSU manufacturers. Seasonic had a program for certain select PSU's but it's closed now which seem's ridiculous considering Nvidia are still realeasing and selling FE cards. You can try contacting [email protected] to see if they will let you have one. Good quality cables too at 16awg.
