Why are they listed in the shop as Seasonic power supplies (and not just under the Seasonic tab but with it in their name also) when they are basically budget Tagans? Spending 30 seconds googling the name would have revealed that if you were unsure.

Edit - I figure you might say it's because they are the OEM but you haven't followed that labelling convention with any other supplies.

Tagan, SilverPower, Seasonic, Etasis are all part of MaxPoint. Think they share different parts and distribution

Well that serves me right for sticking my oar in. :o

I knew they owned the Tagan and Silverpower brands but I thought they just acted as a European distributor for Seasonic. Having Etasis on board as well is a nice touch.

Seasonic is one of the oldest and known PSU makers and over twice as old as MaxPoint, that should make clear what their relation is if there's any beyond normal business relations.
Maxpoint is just one distributor/seller of Seasonics but might well own Silver Power brand. (like Tagan which is also only brand)

And most Silver Powers definitely don't have anything to do with Seasonic because of entirely different casing and internal design/layout.
But SS-400/500 are probably made by Seasonic, case is exact "Seasonic copy" and internal layout looks similar to Corsair VX450 and "low power" Seasonic S12II and M12II models.
Probably Japanese capacitors just have been replaced with cheaper standard caps (like in Seasonic made Antecs) used by most PSU makers and there might be other similar component chances.
