What are peoples thoughts on the new Seat Arona?

Reviews through the traditional outlets seem very positive.

Took one for a test drive yesterday and liked it. Seem's it would suit my needs for the next 2 years.

Currently exploring a lease on an SE Tech one, 1l DSG

£600 down and £200 a month with 8000 mile a year allowance which is affordable for me. That includes maintenace, service, tyres, and road tax

Seems okay. Only slightly more expensive than others in its class. But that could be the maintenance. How much is that adding? Surely it's of limited use? The chances of needing new tyres is slim. The manufacturer's warranty will cover repairs. You've got two years of tax and one service to pay for.

It's worth noting that the Seat Ateca, Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage are all a similar price. ~£180-£200/month with three months upfront.

Just because something is affordable doesn't necessarily make it a good deal.

I agree. But for completely worry free motoring I cant see how I would beat that? For now I think thats the right way forwards.

The Ateca and Qashqai are on my list to look into. We only need a smaller second car. I'm 6ft 5 and find the Arona has a nice high roof. We have a new Alhambra coming in February as the family wagon.

It's hardly a unique deal, there are numerous different lease options out there many of which are cheaper. In this thread alone someone has pointed out it's the same money as the better models in the seat range.

I'd agree with that. The problem isn't the car, or the method of finance. It's simply not a great deal. At ~30% of list price over two years, it's pricey (but not horrendously so). I'd say there was a bit of new model premium in there, except most of the compact crossovers seem equally overpriced.

Plus some of the benefits are not really benefits - so it includes tyres, on the face of it thats excellent but the reality is with such low mileage would it even need tyres anyway?

Fair enough. And whilst I do agree, importantly my wife likes driving it. I need something a bit higher than the average hatch and headroom inside. Welcome to suggestions? I can get a kuga for about the same which was also a contender.

To be honest, if you like the car it's maybe the right choice. Where's the point in leasing something else for the similar money just because it represents a deal that is objectively better?

I'd go and test drive some others; Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage, SEAT Ateca, Skoda Karoq. Pick the one you like the most. They're all £170-£200/month on 3+ arrangements. Most of them are 3+35 rather than 3+23.

The Skoda Karoq is interesting. Trying to find stuff for the £200 bracket, too much choice.

Styling aside it would appear the Karoq and and the Arona share an awful lot. I do like the look of the Karoq too.

Dont know what it is about the Qashqai but I cant get me head around it.

Kuga is out as we drive those in work and I'm not fussed on it. May price the Ateca.
